Biography

Dr. Nguyen was born and raised in Seattle, Washington until the age of four, after which he spent his childhood growing up in the suburb of Edmonds, Washington. He graduated summa cum laude from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while competing as a member of the men’s division I tennis team. It was during this time that Dr. Nguyen shadowed a local ophthalmologist in the operating room, coincidentally a teammate’s father, and became fascinated with the intricacies of cataract surgery and the positive impact it had on patients’ lives. He then attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) where he gained a deeper appreciation for the management of glaucoma during his ophthalmology rotations.

Dr. Nguyen enjoys playing and watching competitive sports (especially tennis), listening to K-pop, hip hop and R&B music, and spending time trying new restaurants with his wife.
