Gained in Translation

Gained in Translation brings together clinicians and vision scientists from UW, UBC, and OHSU

We are pleased to invite you to the 16th Annual Gained in Translation Symposium, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025. This year, the symposium will be hosted at the University of British Columbia.

This event is a collaborative effort among the Cascadia academic ophthalmology departments, including OHSU/Casey, the University of Washington, and the University of British Columbia. The symposium is a one-day meeting that rotates among our institutions and brings together faculty members and trainees from each of our respective schools.

The format of the symposium is designed to foster meaningful discussion and collaboration. Each hour of the event will feature a clinician addressing an unmet medical need, followed by a presentation from a basic or translational scientist exploring how recent scientific advances may offer solutions to that need.
